The digitalisation team is organised centrally. We work on the digitalisation of processes, are experts in SAP, generate apps, create educational videos and much more.
One of our main goals was and is a noticeable increase in productivity. The reduction in throughput times alone, for example by eliminating the internal/external mail route for orders, is extremely noticeable thanks to the digitalisation measures.
Since 2015, the business processes in the equipment environment have been transformed to SAP. PORR Equipment Services (PES) was the first in the construction industry in the German-speaking region to make its processes available to our employees via UI5 applications in SAP, i.e. with SAP Fiori, also on iPhones, tablets or terminals, and to develop them further.
So out of the office, to where life happens: in the workshop, on the storage yard, in the construction warehouse, in the maintenance warehouse and on the construction site. And with less paper.
The entire life cycle of the equipment, all maintenance measures and the entire materials management as well as the company filling stations are now highly automated and digitalised and can be operated and controlled via apps.
Many documents are also no longer sent manually by email in the PES, but are stored after certain process steps, for example in SAP, and automatically sent to suppliers or customers. Data is also obtained from external databases via various APIs.
By optimising and digitalising processes, our employees have more time for their actual tasks. This makes work fun!
