Great engineering performance at the Danube

An impressive example of engineering and teamwork was delivered by PES Himberg in early June 2024. Tasked with the challenging job of erecting bored piles in the Danube, the team faced a major challenge.

The construction management wanted a rotary drilling rig to be placed on a floating pontoon and a cantilevered platform for the drilling assistants and equipment to be manufactured. This complex requirement initially caused some head-scratching.

Despite the tight lead time, according to our shoulder to shoulder spirit the SSTB IM / OPGM Himberg team immediately got to work. What began with a small freehand sketch quickly developed into an impressive performance. Thanks to years of expertise in special foundation engineering, the desired platform could be manufactured in record time and also mounted on the rotary drilling rig. Thus, nothing stood in the way of the production of the bored piles.

PES Himberg took over all services: from planning to manufacturing and static calculation, to assembly and acceptance. This project impressively demonstrates how even the greatest challenges can be mastered through teamwork and expertise.
