PES is investing in a new specialist vehicle for Gleisbau Ost – bespoke technology for maximum efficiency

We are delighted to announce a special addition to our fleet: PES has acquired a new vehicle for Gleisbau Ost, which is unique across the group in this configuration. 

It is a Volvo 6x4 three-axle tractor unit, combined with a custom-built four-axle semi-trailer featuring three steered axles.

The semi-trailer has been precisely tailored to the requirements of track construction. With lowered wheel wells, it enables the safe transport of road-rail excavators without exceeding the permissible overall height. In addition, the low-loader platform has been extended to allow special attachments to be carried alongside standard equipment without any problems.

Another highlight: the new semi-trailer allows full-length rails to be transported – a significant advantage for logistics in railway construction.

With this investment, we are enabling our Track Construction East division to achieve greater efficiency in logistics.
